Every year there has been an array of different entertainment at the show including motorcycle displays, performing ponies and dogs, children’s clown entertainment, wood chopping competitions, Dog trials, live musical, a huge small animal tent, dancing and many activities for children in Kidzone hosted by Media Works. The side shows as always are a major attraction for the younger generation.

It has a strong equestrian contingent encompassing Dressage, Show Jumping, Show Hunter, Pleasure Horses and Showing classes. The Cattle section is also well supported with many breeds shown. There are dog trials, woodchopping and a mural painting competition. The show has a large home industry section, including competition based around baking, growing vegetables, sewing and knitting, photography, model building and cut flowers.

Competitors enjoy the Egmont showgrounds due to the excellent facilities, good competition areas, proximity to the town centre and a well run competition with good prize money.
